Floating house?
Floating Villa is one of the few floating houses in Norway. It is not widespread in the Nordic countries yet, but is a common sight in the rest of the world, and is becoming increasingly popular.

It is common to distinguish between floating houses and houseboats. Floating houses are often permanently anchored and houseboats have their own propulsion
and is registered as a boat. Both are a very climate-friendly form of housing. No blasting or digging and the house is movable.

We at Floating Villa have been around a lot in Europe and the rest of the world to look at modern homes on the water.
Construction
Floating Villa was built half-finished in Vesterålen and then transported by ship to Bergen where it was completed on Askøy. The house was located for 6 weeks at Bryggen in Bergen before it was towed into Damsgårdssundet where it was rented out for 3 years.
Bergen municipality chose to ban floating homes and houseboats. Thus, it was to find a municipality that was future-oriented and solution-oriented, and it was Øygarden municipality.

The house is now located on idyllic Nautnes.
Bryggen
